Beach Cala Violina

This wonderfull beach is located between Follonica and Punta Ala, within the ‘Riserva Naturale delle Bandite di Scarlino’. You can reach the beach by bike from the ‘Puntone’ along a rather difficult path, after entering through the gate of Portiglioni (just after the port of Scarlino) or by taking the provincial road 158, following the indications. From the provincial road 158 a dirt path of about 1 km leads to a parking lot. Consider that the beach of Cala Violina lies within a natural reserve and parking is therefore limited. From the parking to access the beach you need to walk a 1.5 km long path through the pine forest, it takes about 20/30 minutes. Cala Violina is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Maremma. The beach’s sand is clear and grainy made of very small quartz cristals. The name of the beach comes from the sound that the sand makes when you walk on it… like the sound of a violin. The water is crystal clear and a thick Mediterranean scrub frames the beach.

Marina di Grosseto

In front of Marina di Grosseto, a sea side city, extends a long and wide beach (an average of 50 meters wide) with many bathing establishments and also parts of free beach that arrives uninterruptedly until Castiglione della Pescaia. The beach is bordered by the pine forest, is well equipped and guests can practice sailing, kite-surfing and windsurfing. The beach and seabed slopes gently into the sea and the beach is therefore very suitable for younger children.
